We believe it is an important Company obligation to know that the products we purchase are being made in a socially responsible manner, which begins with Legacy’s Workplace Code of Conduct. Accordingly, Legacy’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program includes an active membership with the Fair Labor Association (www.fairlabor.org) and adoption of CLC’s Special Agreement Regarding Labor Codes of Conduct, which comprehensively addresses labor practices, wages, and working conditions in effect at our manufacturing facilities. This requires that as part of doing business with Legacy, all factories must agree to periodic inspections through a combination of announced and unannounced visits and addressing any corrective actions discovered.
With regard to our own factory in Hanover, PA, we strive to be a “preferred local employer” by making work fun and rewarding. Legacy’s compensation package is as good as or better than others doing similar work in our area. In addition, we offer a generous profit sharing plan, free employee health insurance, company-paid 401k contributions, and paid time-off. We believe it is our duty to provide our employees with a safe workplace and, accordingly, our working environment provides a great culture of comfort, orderliness, and safety, which is significant given that almost all of Legacy’s products are decorated in our hometown Hanover factory.
